some thoughts about nikon 1 mount mirrorless cameras( V1 J1 today)

we already know that the CX sensor is very close to S16 format, and if you look carefully at the picture above, the FT adapter has a depth close to thickness of the J1 body which is 30mm. So the flange distance of V1 J1 is 16.5+-1mm. All these show nikon 1 mirrorless cameras are perfect for c mount lens adaption. Looking at the samples pictures flying everywhere, i will say they are not anywhere prettier than the photos from P&S cameras. The lenses are simply too slow and dont have any character, just like boring Honda, Toyota cars.

The question remains as "Will Nikon open the door of shooting without a lens?", it is up to Nikon. Now come back to the Movie, slow motion is pretty attractive but it will be great to have 120fps and 240fps with better quality. And last but not least important thing i will like to say is "Hey, Nikon, make it hackable!!!" Will they listen?-:)

fujinon 1.7/9-108 tv.z lens on GH1

Nikon introduced their V1 J1, and so many people predicted their immediate failure, because of tiny sensor, no DOF control, blah, blah.....but they are cams aiming better video capabilities, and big sensor is not necessary for most users who just like to take some casual videos with HD quality, fast 10-15X zoom lens also is a big problem for aps-c even m43 sensors. here is an idea for Sony, why not a dual format sensor that can jump between 1.5X and 3.0X? and it can has higher pixels at the center.

fujinon A14X9 with optical B4 adapter on GH1

the lens is old style, and the optical adapter is homemade, not the bloody $3000 one:) all pics took wide open, and you can see the CA is insignificant here, sharpness quite ok to my poor eyes. #3 pic shows the bluish haze without adapter.
